Location: Upper Midwest, USA
Scope: Replacement of Outdated Flooring System
Client Industry: Food Processing
Project Summary:
National Acid Proofing replaced a failed quarry tile floor that had reached the end of its service life. The new vitrified tile system provides a smooth, sanitary, and chemically resistant surface designed to meet the demanding hygiene standards of food production environments.
Project Description:
Our client’s production area was experiencing ongoing issues caused by a deteriorated quarry tile floor. Cracked tiles and worn grout joints were allowing moisture and bacteria to collect beneath the surface, creating sanitation and safety concerns that no longer met the facility’s strict regulatory requirements.
During a limited shutdown window, National Acid Proofing mobilized quickly to remove the existing flooring and underlayment. Our team installed a new, properly sloped underlayment to improve drainage and eliminate standing water. A vitrified tile flooring system was then installed, providing superior durability, cleanability, and long-term protection against heavy traffic and chemical exposure.
The completed installation restored compliance with food safety standards and provided the facility with a low-maintenance surface built to perform reliably in continuous production conditions.
